About Us  Arrowhead Toboggan & Sled Company was founded in 1953 by David Grinnel of Carlton, MN.
The company was turned over to Dave Tommeraasen of Soudan, MN in June of 2009.
Dave Tommeraasen is a master craftsman who got his start with a small cabinetry business when he and his wife Judie moved to Soudan. With the slowing of the cabinet business and looking to the future, we have returned to the past. The old fashioned fun of winter tobogganing!
All of our toboggans and sleds are meticulously handcrafted by Dave, one at a time in our home based shop. Ash wood is used for its strength and flexibility in the steaming and bending process. The grain of this wood provides not only a durable product, but one of showpiece quality. Following construction, each piece is finished with three coats of clear polyurethane an extremely flexible crystalline coating.
All of our pads are hand sewn at home by Judie. We hire local professionals to sew the buntings. We hire local artists to do the woodburning of wildlife on our Sheloggans and Minis. Our hope is that you enjoy the fun and excitement of sledding with our products as much as we do. |
